All That You Can’t Leave Behind
(Interscope)
“Stuck in a Moment You Can’t Get Out Of” is a terrible title, but the song that goes with it is one of the prettiest in the U2 oeuvre, and “Peace on Earth” is a worthy successor to John Lennon’s “Happy Xmas (War Is Over).” The rest rise, fall, soar, dive, reverberate, overreach, and inspire excessive praise in Rolling Stone as usual. Rating: Three-and-a-half Lockheed Skunk Works out of five.
