Question: Why should anyone who already has Time Fades Away or Live Rust, not to mention Weld/Arc or Year of the Horse, want another Neil Young live album? Answer: He shouldn’t. Question: Why should anyone who doesn’t already own Time Fades Away or Live Rust, not to mention Weld/Arc or Year of the Horse, decide to start his Neil Young-live collection with this one? Answer: He shouldn’t--that is, unless the only other Neil Young live album he knows is Journey Through the Past, in which case even this album’s eleven minutes’ worth of “Words,” eight minutes worth of “All Along the Watchtower”-featuring-Chrissie Hynde, and six minutes worth of “Motorcycle Mama” featuring Young’s wife or sister might seem like an improvement. Rating: Two cowgirls in the sand out of five.
