Toddlers Sing Sunday School
(Music for Little People)
At a time during which too many kids are growing up with Lil’ Jon and the East Side Boyz careening around inside their skulls, it’s nice to have a label like Music for Little People dedicated to a wide variety of decent alternatives. And as someone who likes both Sunday School songs (i.e., “campfire” or “Vacation Bible School” songs) and children (was one, have a few, teach high-schoolers with the maturity of), I was all set to enjoy this collection. But be forewarned, oh ye of much faith: hearing three- and four-year-olds sing twenty songs in any style requires the patience of Job. Track that had it been included would’ve covered a multitude of sins: “Open Up Your Heart (and Let the Sun Shine In).” Rating: Two pebbles and bam-bams out of five.
